Naming
All reservations must follow the same naming convention. This ensures clarity and uniformity in the environment. Reservations might also be monitored centrally using dasboard software, and consistent naming makes it easy to see where the reservation was created.
The name is divided into 4 parts: - Customer Name - Type - Purpose - Duration
Customer Name For the initial rollout of the environment, an abbreviation of the customer name is created. This abbreviation must be at least 2 and at most 4 characters long due to limitations on name length. This abbreviation is also used in most resource names within the environment.
Type For now, it is the same for all reservations, namely: RI.
Purpose Provide a short description of the purpose of the reservation. For example, for AVD servers, use 'AVD'; for application servers, use 'APP'. If it's for a specific server, specify the VM name, e.g., 'APP01'.
Duration Specify the duration of the reservation: '1YR' for 1 year and '3YR' for 3 years.
Here are some examples: QAP-RI-AVD-1YR BUI-RI-APP01-3YR
